Senior Olympics in Great Falls

The Senior Olympics are well underway after getting started at Thursday nights Five at Five. Events have been going on all day long.

Bowling, table tennis, and swimming are a few of the sporting events that have been going on in Great Falls today. Senior citizens are getting their chance to get out there and be competitive and just have fun. People came from all over the country to get their chance in this competition.

All of the games are taking place in Great Falls because of its central location and some of the finest athletic facilities in the Treasure State. Any person male or female Fifty years of age or more was eligible to enter the Olympics.

Not only are the Olympics about the competition, but mainly to have fun and interact with other people with the same interest. The Senior Olympics has grown tremendously in comparison to last year with more people taking an interest in the Olympics and even more people from Montana coming back for more.

The Olympics are going through until Saturday at noon, the top three at each competition will walk away with metals at the end of the event. In addition to the sporting events there is also social events like the banquet on Friday night at the Holiday Inn.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - The man killed in an early morning crash on Friday has been identified as 34-year-old, Alejandro E. Apodaca. Just before 12:30, Apodaca crashed his car on S. Bowdish Rd. He was traveling South on Bowdish near 17th when he lost control of his car, uprooting a tree in the front yard of a home.
