On Friday Shannon Augare was officially charged with three misdemeanors and now he will be appearing in court.

A Magistrate Judge issuing a court summons for the State Senator and Blackfeet Tribal Council leader after being charged with driving under the influence and obstructing a peace officer.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Keith Strong ordering Augare to appear in court on July 17th in Great Falls.

He faces three misdemeanors after allegedly fleeing from a traffic stop on US Highway 2 within the Blackfeet Reservation Boundaries.  It was then that Augare reportedly told a Glacier County Sheriff's Deputy that he had no jurisdiction before speeding off.

Blackfeet prosecutors have asked the U.S. Attorney's Office to take the case against Augare as he is a Blackfeet Tribal Councilman.
