A Local Man In Court After His 7th DUI

A local man though making his initial appearance after showing signs of impairment Saturday evening. Chester Wendell Brown appearing in cascade county justice court facing his seventh DUI charge. According to court documents brown was stopped while travelling northbound on interstate fifteen near mile marker 269 in Cascade County. A sergeant with the Montana Highway Patrol noticed a vehicle pulling over to the side of the road on the southbound side of the interstate before merging back into the driving lane and abruptly turning on its right turn signal and then pulling onto the shoulder. MHP made contact with brown and noticed a very strong odor of alcohol when he spoke. Brown reportedly admitted to drinking two beers at lunch and showed slurred speech and had difficulty maintaining his balance. According to court documents his eyes were bloodshot and glossy as well. The defendant also showed signs of impairment during field sobriety tests and refused to provide a breath sample. Brown was last convicted of a DUI on March 11th 2003 and his first DUI conviction was in April of 1998. Bail was set at twenty five thousand dollars.
