51-Year-Leonard Coyle Identified as Plane Crash Victim

Posted: Updated:

Lewis and Clark County officials say one person has been killed in the crash of a single-engine airplane north of Helena. Leonard Coyle, 51, from Helena was flying a 1957 Beechcraft Bonanza.

A witness, Don Heide, says he was outside shortly after noon Monday when he heard the noise from the plane's engine change. He says he saw the plane spiral down and heard it crash. That's when he called 911. He said the only part of the airplane that remained intact was the tail section. The owner of the aircraft was Vetter Aviation from Helena.
