Great Falls Public School Levy Election

Posted: Updated:

Ballots by mail have been flying into the elections office for weeks. Interests in this election seem to be much higher than in the Spring times Great Falls trustees election as the turn out could even hit the 50% mark by the end of day.

The levy is asking for a property tax increase and happens to be the only matter on the ballot. Recently in may voters in the Helena Elementary School District passed a similar levy.

The Great Falls School District is asking for nearly $1 million levy to help at-risk kids, improve graduation rates, update technology within the district, additional teachers at the elementary level, and provide more money for the Great Falls Police officers assigned to the district.

The polls close here at Exhibition Hall in the Montana expo-park at 8 P.M. for already registered voters in the district boundaries.
