Fort Benton Woman Charged

A Fort Benton woman is being charged with attempted deliberate homicide after allegedly stabbing her mother several days ago.

Lindsay Tope making an initial appearance in Cascade County Justice Court Thursday after a warrant was out for her arrest out of Fort Benton.  Tope is charged with attempted deliberate homicide after her mother was stabbed.

The stabbing was reported at 11pm Monday and Tope was arrested yesterday in Great Falls.

Charging documents state that Tope told responding deputies that she was experiencing a psychotic break when she stabbed her mother.  Linda Tope underwent surgeries for serious wounds on the front of her neck and back.

Two witnesses heard arguing in the apartment that Lindsay and Linda tope were reportedly living in but were unsure if it was them that were arguing.

Bail was set at $250,000.
