Black Eagle Park Volunteer Honored for Years of Service

Posted: Updated:

After the Black Eagle parade, the community crowded Black Eagle Park for their annual community 4th ofJuly picnic.  This park was built in 1974 so the children of Black Eagle have a safe place of their own to play.  To this day the entire park in funded by donations and run by volunteers.

One volunteer. Frank Tuss, has been there since day one and is still going strong to make this park what it is today.  Park staff today honored him with a plaque for his service.

The fourth of July picnic is the park's number one fundraiser of the year.  Funds go to park maintenance and expansion, like the new playground they put in a few years ago.  A new baseball field is their next venture.

SPOKANE, Wash. - The details surrounding the murder of Doug Carlile, 63, read like a hard boiled detective novel: business deals gone wrong, two-bit thugs in over their heads, murder for hire, and the lawless oil fields of North Dakota. But Spokane Police detectives say all of those elements, and more, played into Carlile's murder.
