Escapee Shot in Officer Involved Shooting

News breaking just hours ago in Yellowstone County as after an escaping from Deer Lodge Prison on Monday, the escapee has reportedly been sighted and was a part of an officer involved shooting.

Dean Randolph Jess escaped from Deer Lodge Prison Monday morning.  A search had been called off Wednesday in the area near the prison.

Early this afternoon Jess was shot after being sighted by Yellowstone County Sheriff's Deputies in which Jess was reportedly shot by the deputy.

Jess reportedly was sighted in the King Avenue area of Billings closing King Avenue and several other streets in the area.

Deputies and Department of Corrections staff were involved in the apprehension that resulted in the altercation.

Jess was serving a 55 year prison sentence for a crime committed out of Park County in 2004.  He was 42 years old.
