SLIDESHOW: Brewster 48 Hour Softball Tournament

Updated:

In the late 1980s and '90s, Brewster native Lester McCullough held a 48 hour softball tournament designed to raise money for Brewster High School athletics.

Sadly, the event stopped when mccullough got sick and eventually passed away, but the event returned this past week to serve as a community fundraiser to help promote the town and its activities.

The money raised also is used for those kids in the community in need, such as providing basketball shoes for those without them.

Sanky's Gang took home the title in the eight-team tournament this year, but organizers expect far greater participation in next year's tournament.
