Posted: Updated:

At the state capitol in his first time attending Governor Bullock opened the Montana Board of Education meeting with various words regarding education in Montana before introducing the state teacher of the year Eileen Sheehy from Billings. A variety of major subjects were on the agenda and discussed at the meeting. The most notable being early childhood development and education focusing on the ages 5 and below and how it would bring long term positive results to the state

Another highly discussed topic was the access of colleges for students in Montana not only the affordability, but also the chance for students to get a head start on college with duel credit opportunities starting at a younger age in high school.

Just about everyone that spoke at this meeting was thankful towards Governor Bullock and his work on education so far in the state, but probably the most appreciative were the Tribal Colleges representatives as it was there first time being invited to this meeting and its all due to Governor Bullock's invitation.

Various representatives brought up other topics including Veterans and military family education and community and workforce development. The meeting concluded to the room open for public comment.
