Big Sky Bread and Pastry, Bakery of the Future

Posted: Updated:

This month Big Sky Bread and Pastry moved into their new location in downtown Great Falls and they didn't move in alone. Traditionally at a bakery you get just baked goods however at Big Sky Bread and Pastry you don't get just baked goods your also getting coffee because on one side of the store is a coffee shop and the other a one side of the store is a coffee shop and the other a bakery.

"Two different sides well as far as being the business owner and doing the business and everything and then being the baker you know I got to do all that too every thing the baker you know I got to do all that too every thing that is made here is made by me 100% from scratch," says Carlson. Meet Matt Carlson, owner of Big Sky Bready and Pastry, recently Carlson moved his business from its old location to a much biggar store downtown.

"Its been fantastic it's been really great compared to our old location which was really small. seeing a lot of new faces a lot of new customers and everybody seems to enjoy what we are you know what we are putting out," says Carlson. With their move to a new location a big idea came to the local location a big idea came to the local bakery to help bring in customers the addition of a second business inside a business. "The coffee shop those girls they are just doing their own thing and it's called the Coffee Bar and their kind of a privet contractor there doing the coffee here, things like that and they knew what they were doing so yeah we could do something together and you guys can kind of start your thing and get your name out," explained Carlson.

Even though the employees have a relation to one another there is no sibling rivalry here another there is no sibling rivalry here and since opening up both shops have seen a positive both shops have seen a positive result. "The public has been very responsive and they come down and they are very supportive and we enjoy seeing you know new faces everyday," says Megan Myskewitz.

Sexual Offenders in Montana need tier designation

In 2013 legislature passed a bill that gave district court judges the authority to assign a tier level to an offender after sentencing. Tier designations are important because of how it's used to predict the likelihood that a sexual offender will re-offend. However over half of Montana's registered sex offenders haven't been assigned.
