Every year thousands of people from all over flock to the Montana State Fair. There is something for everyone from animals, exhibits, rides, and of course good ole fashioned fair food. On an average given day at the fair, there could be 4,000 to 8,000 people on the grounds at one time.
Attendance started off strong the first weekend this year, but the weather has put a bit of a damper on attendance numbers recently. Lisa Bracco, general manager Montana ExpoPark, says, "as of right now with 2 days left in the fair we're about down 19%, but with a rainy day and journey last year, it's hard to compare to those 2 things".
Even with thunderstorms forecasted for this evening, there is plenty to do indoors at the fair. Fair staff are looking forward to a strong finish in attendance, hopefully with better weather tomorrow.
