This year, NAPA in Great Falls decided to give out an award to honor a group of heroes in our community. This year's honor went to the Sand Coulee Volunteer Fire Department for their efforts in saving homes during a fire earlier this year. NAPA President/Owner Mark Doll said the actions of the firefighters were exactly in line with the spirit of the award.
The community turned out to celebrate the honorees on Friday night featuring a car show and barbeque. A special guest also attended to present a check to the firefighters. IHRA Driver Ron Capps came to show his appreciation for the award-winning efforts and do a meet and greet with the fans. Capps said he appreciated the turn out and was excited that so many people were there to honor Sand Coulee.
Capps spent a majority of the evening interacting with the firefighters and the long line of fans. He took time to meet and have a conversation with each person in line while also signing autographs.
Doll hopes this can become a yearly event and is looking forward to honoring another hero set of heroes from our community next year.
