2 Appear on Alleged Kidnapping and Assault Charges

Posted: Updated:

Two men who were arrested late last night made their initial court appearance this afternoon.  The two Great Falls men are facing serious felony charges after events allegedly took place late last night.

Christopher Michelotti and Dustin Steele are both being charged with felony aggravated kidnapping and felony assault with a weapon charge.

According to court documents it was late yesterday night shortly after 11 that Michelotti and Steele allegedly went to the home of Cameron Wiens and kidnapped him.  A witness then called 911 and spoke to authorities saying that Wiens had come home and shortly after getting out of his truck Michelotti and Steele forced him back in it.  The witness said she believes the actions were over a drug debt.  Cameron then reportedly then called the witness a short time later saying that if he did not get Michelotti and Steele the money within thirty minutes that they were going to kill him.

Wiens said he was not the only one being taken as hostage as a Steve Gange was also being held at a 22nd Street N building.  Officers upon arrival found everyone including the victims fled on foot.  Wiens was found a short time later not being held by anyone and was interviewed by GFPD.  During the interview Wiens reportedly said that he was kidnapped at Ricki's restaurant and owed money to the alleged perpetrators for drugs and that he and Gange were taken against their will.  He said Steele was hostile and brandished a gun and Michelotti had a set of brass knuckles that could deploy a knife from the side at them and they both allegedly threatened to kill the two.  He said he could not get free until police arrived and officers located Steele and Michelotti after a short pursuit.

Both have a criminal history and bond was set at $200,000.
