Hellgate Knights Ready for the Season

Posted: Updated:
The group of seniors at Hellgate have yet to experience a winning season in their previous three years.  But you wouldn't know it based on their excitement and confidence heading into this season.

"We got a good squad this year we have a solid group of seniors everybody has been in the weight room and working really hard all off season so we have all come together this season and just working our butts off to be good this year," said senior Kole Swartz.

"Everybody is excited it's football season and we are working hard as steam and our kids have a real focus and commitment as a team to work hard and come together," said Head Coach R.L Boyles.

The Knights are led by RL Boyles and when asked about his teams expectations he gave to cliche coaches answer, one game at a time, but the seniors know what they want to achieve this year.

"Definitely put up some more W's, hopefully make the playoffs , maybe a city championship.  We definitely been a while since we've won a city championship so that's in our sights," said senior Zach Bauer.

Coach Boyles said his team has started slow in recent years and hopes the Knights come out hot out of the gates.

"We have always gotten better and better all year so what we want to do is the effort we put in this spring, this summer, this winter and we want to come out smoking.  Like I said we want to take it one game at a time and we want that to start with week one," said Boyles.

The Knights have been a primarily run oriented team, but with a new offensive coordinator players are excitement about a change in style.

"Watch out for our new offense to with our new OC and the no huddle, faster pace faster tempo type offense," said Bauer.

The Knights open up their season on the road against Helena Capital next Friday.
