Three Injured, One in Critical Condition, After ATV Accident

An ATV accident taking place late Sunday afternoon has left three people injured total, and one of those a seven year old boy who remains in critical condition at this time.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the accident involving an ATV taking place Sunday shortly before 3:45pm near Hughesville Road and the Lewis and Clark National Forest near Monarch.

The ATV reportedly drifted off the road and crashed into a tree and ejecting all three riders. 

One of the three injured included a seven year old boy who had to be airlifted to a hospital in Seattle for treatment after suffering major head injuries. 

The older brother, 9, and the adult who was driving were also reported injured and taken to a nearby hospital.  MHP believes that alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.  No charges have been filed yet, as they are awaiting the results of blood tests, but according to MHP charges will be filed if the blood tests positive.
