A Great Falls man made his initial court appearance this afternoon after his arrest on Wednesday.

John Scott Galvan now faces two felony charges of criminal possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute.

According to court documents, a Great Falls detective learned from a confidential informant that Galvan intended to deliver marijuana to a customer near 5th Ave. Northwest. It was then that officers with the drug task force saw Galvan arrive to make the delivery, where he was immediately taken into custody and his vehicle was searched.

Police found approximately three pounds of marijuana inside his car. Afterwards they searched Gal-an's home where authorities say they found five to ten pounds of marijuana, a scale, packing material and pipes.

Noting his past criminal history, Galvan's bond was set at $25,000.
