Burckhard Makes Initial Court Appearance

A Great Falls man making his initial court appearance today and now faces burglary charges after allegedly breaking into the Holiday Village Mall.

Finley Burckhard now faces five felony counts of burglary.  According to court documents authorities spoke to the head of mall security after reports of several stores being burglarized surfaced.

Officers were able to watch video surveillance from several locations in the mall and could see a male breaking into stores and taking cash.  After speaking with mall security, Burckhard was identified as the suspect.  Burckhard gained entry into the mall by allegedly breaking three windows.  He reportedly stole $380 in cash from the Subway and then entered the Twisted Pretzel and allegedly stole an energy drink.  According to documents, he also tried to enter the Orange Julius, but the register was empty and Game Stop to possibly steal items, but was unsuccessful.

Documents also state that Finley waived his Miranda Rights and admitted to entering the stores and taking cash and the drink, and also allegedly admitted to smashing the windows to gain entry as well.

Bail was set at $5,000.
