A Longer Season For Montana Wolf Hunters

Posted: Updated:

Good news for Montana wolf hunters, this past weekend started wolf hunting season here in the treasure state. And lucky for these folks. This season will be a much longer one. This years wolf season started on Sunday and it will end on march 15th making it a very long hunting season.

Hunters will be allowed to both trap and hunt wolves in the wild. But people who are planning to hunt this year should look into getting a new hunting licence before heading out. "This year the wolf season runs until March 15th of 2014, well the limit this year is 5 and that is up from last year. But this year hunters can take up to 5 wolves and of course the need the license requirements," says region 4 information educator, Bruce Auchly. This season hunters will be allowed to hunt up to five wolves. Last year Montana saw 128 wolves hunted in the treasure state, in addition to 97 trap hunted. Making it a total of 225 wolves taken last year.
