Imagine No Malaria Saves Lives

Posted: Updated:

"Imagine No Malaria is a program that is nation wide put together by the United Methodist Church in the hopes of diminishing the amount of deaths that are caused each year in Africa through malaria," says Pastor Nancy Slabaugh-Hart.

Since their involvement the conditions of those with malaria in Africa have improved by a significant number. "less than 10 years ago 1 person died every 30 seconds of malaria in Africa and in less than 10 years that number has been decreased and now even though it's horrific 1 person dies every 30 secs of malaria, but even though its a horrific statistic we have been able to move from 1 every 30 seconds to one every 60 so this is something in such a very short amount of time." This year the United Methodist Church are trying to reach a newer much need financial goal. "And so the Yellowstone Conference of the United Methodist Church this year has set a goal of raising 500,000 dollars to help Imagine No Malaria,"explains Slabaugh-Hart.

And all folks involved in imagine no malaria wish the best of luck to the Dancing with the Stars contestants. "Well I think it would be absolutely fabulous because for 1 thing it raises peoples awareness and even after dancing with the stars is over people can still contribute to the imagine no malaria, but we will wish or stars well that they can help this amazing and wonderful cause," says Slabaugh-Hart.
