FOX MT Entertainment Update 9-20

Posted: Updated:

The long-anticipated Tupac Shakur film is finally moving forward.  The biopic has been on the backburner since 2011, due to legal battles with the late rapper's mother, who has since been named the project's executive producer.  No word yet on who will play the lead or who will direct.

In theater news, the 1987 co-dependent classic "Fatal Attraction" is getting a stage adaptation, with a production opening in London's West End early next year.

The new trailer for "The Last Days on Mars" is out. Liev Schreiber stars in the sci-fi horror flick, about a group of astronauts who discover a deadly infection on the red planet.

And Apple's new IPhone 5s and 5c went on sale today. It's the first time Apple has introduced more than one phone at a time. ISI expects that 6 million units of the new phone will be sold in the opening weekend, about a million more than IPhone 5's launch weekend. Sadly, all this at the same time struggling smartphone-maker Blackberry will release its popular Blackberry Messenger or BBM service for the IPhone and Android, on the heels of reports that Blackberry will lay off up to 40% of its workers before the end of the year.

And that's your Entertainment Update!
