Childhood Cancer Awareness Month: 10-Year-Old in Remission
"Shelby has a type of cancer called Acute Leukemia and that is really actually the most common type of cancer in Pediatrics. She's doing extremely well. She's in remission right now, but she's undergoing therapy where she receives, really, monthly therapy, but receives daily chemotherapy at home.
This goes on for about two and a half years for her. She's able to attend school and live a mostly normal life for her," says Dr. Courtney Lyle.
