FVCC Student Death: Investigation Continues

Posted: Updated:

60-year-old Peter mMahlum of Bigfork fell from scaffolding on Hatton Ranch Road.  He fell doing work for a class project around 8:30 yesterday morning.  Mahlum was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

FVCC President, Jane Karas says, "Safety is our first priority here at the college. Students' safety is the thing we're most concerned about. As I said, there's an investigation ongoing and we're participating in that, looking at the results of that."

Karas says the Building Trade Program will not resume classes until the investigation is closed.
