Stand Down Brings Goods And Services To Montana Vets

Posted: Updated:

There are so many great veterans here in the state of Montana so despite these cooler temperatures and this persistent chance for rain, over 1000 are expected to show up for this weekend's Veteran Show Down.

"The purpose of our Vets4Vets Stand Down is to make all veterans aware of the benefits that they are entitled to."

If you're a veteran and can show proof, you'll have access to health and mental health services, winter clothing and supplies, food, counseling, legal advice, and variety of other perks, which don't just stop at this weekend.

"We had a guy out here a couple years ago.  He came out just to get the goods but went through the service line.  He sat down with a counselor and got enrolled in some training.  Now he is in college at the School of Mines in Butte, so it can change your life."

Serving and protecting our nation is one of the greatest payments one can make, so everything at the Stand Down won't cost you a single penny.

"All of these services are totally free.  Nothing here costs anything; lunches, haircuts, a lot of things for the Vet down here, so come on down and take advantage of the things you've earned.  You serve, you deserve."

If you live in Great Falls and don't have transportation, you can call Vets 4 Vets at 799-6709 and they can give you a ride.

If you missed out today, you can still take part in the event at the Mercantile Building of the Expo Park.  You can participate on Friday from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
