Manhattan Football Coach On Administrative Leave

Posted: Updated:
MANHATTAN, Mont. -

The Manhattan High School football team played at home Friday night without their head coach.

Manhattan Public Schools placed head football coach Dale McQueary on administrative leave.

The school district is investigating into McQueary revolves around financial matters relating to student activities.

Montana School Board Association's Associate Executive Director Debra Silk told ABC FOX Montana she couldn't comment on pending investigations.

Manhattan Public Schools Superintendent Jim Notaro released the following statement.

"Manhattan Public Schools has placed Dale McQueary on administrative leave with pay pending a full and complete investigation of District financial matters relating to student activities.  At this time, there has been no determination regarding Mr. McQueary involvement in this matter.  The District is simply taking all appropriate precautions to ensure the integrity of the investigative process.  Administrative leave of any employee is appropriate when the District determines that the students, staff and/or community of a school district are best served by an employee being separated from the work place during the course of an investigation.  Again, no determination has been made regarding Mr. McQueary involvement at this time.  The District hopes to have this matter resolved in the very near future and get back to the business of focusing on the education of students. "
