Cowles Montana Media Company Purchased 7 Montana TV Stations

An official announcement regarding the purchase of several Montana TV stations was made this morning, our station being one of them. Cowles Montana Media Company now owns the 7 stations that were previously owned by Max Media.

Cowles Montana Media Company is a subsidiary of Cowles Company based out of Spokane, Washington. They are a private, family-owned, involved in forest products, and a real estate company. They also own and operate the Spokesman-Review, N.B.C. TV stations, and S.W.X., a 24 hour local sports and weather station in Spokane, Yakima and Kenewick, Washington.

While the purchase was confirmed this morning, it is still subject to approvals from the F.C.C.. The transaction in its entirety is expected to be finalized by December 1st of this year.
