Daines & Baucus Displeased With Shutdown

Posted: Updated:

Congressman Steve Daines disappointed that funding was not secured for the Department of Veterans Affairs and necessary appropriations to keep the nation's national parks open during the government shutdown.

Daines stating "I am deeply disappointed by the failure of the House to pass common sense solutions to ensure our veterans receive the support they deserve and keep our national parks open.  It is shameful that Washington continues to put politics ahead of people.

Senator Max Baucus stating "the debate is over, it's time to come together and do our job, so more than 12,000 federal workers in Montana can get their paychecks and congress can get back to the real work folks sent us here to do, like passing a farm bill that will create jobs."
