With October being breast cancer awareness month, lots of places around Great Falls are doing their part to support the cause. Here at Curves they are trading workouts for breast cancer research.

"Every year Curves is very active in participating with cancer awareness and fundraising," says manager Stephanie Anderson.

This year the goal is to get more people to the gym in the name of cancer research.

"This year we are doing a punch card for people who are not members. They can bring a friend or just purchase a ten dollar punch card. That gives them ten visits to Curves so they can get introduced to Curves to see what we are all about. Also the money goes to the American Cancer Society for breast awareness," Anderson explains.

On top of the fundraising, Curves is also selling a tool that allows for more accurate self examinations. Anderson says that many of their members have used these to detect the cancer at an early stage. She also commented on how much the curves community came together last year for those affected by the disease.

"We have a ton of members that have had breast cancer. We actually had one of our staff members that had breast cancer around this time last year. It was amazing to see the support from our members that made donations on her behalf."

Anderson encourages people to go pink by getting healthy at the gym.
