Great Falls Celebrates Pit Bull Awareness Month

Posted: Updated:

It's Pit bull Awareness Month and one of the main goals is to show the softer side of the breed. To celebrate, the Great Falls Animal Shelter invited local Pit bull owners to the F&L Pet Resort for dog and owner training.

"October has been designated as national pit bull awareness month and it's just a time to help educated the public about the pit bull breed, right now it has a very negative stereotype and we're trying to let people know there is no such thing as a bad breed," explains Laura McElhinny.

Also in attendance; Petco, the Humane Society both bring in adoptable pit bull's and dog toys, as well as The Electric City Pitty Committee brings back their ever popular Pit Bull Kissing Booth.

There are 3 Pit bull's up for adoption, which can be found at the Great Falls Animal Shelter or Petco.

Great Falls Animal Shelter is located at 1010 25th Ave NE Great Falls, Mt 59404 and Petco is located at 1601 Market Pl Dr #371 Great Falls, Mt 59404.
