How the Amazing Math Race Is Helping Students in Great Falls

Posted: Updated:

In an attempt to prove that math can in fact be fun, the University of Great Falls hosted the Amazing Math Race this Wednesday.

This event started in 2012 as a math awareness project, and has had such great success that it has become an annual event.

This year was no exception, with a total of 80 students signing up.

And as the name suggests, it runs a lot like the Amazing Race with ten different pit stops.

Lynn Frisbey explains that each pit stop has a different type of math problem. When they finish the problem they are given a clue for the next place using nearly every building on our campus.

Next year they plan to keep things interesting by adding new problems and challenges.

If the success of the program continues Lynn hopes that they can bring the event to different campuses through out the community.
