Van Crashes into a Bank Injuring 2 People

Posted: Updated:

Police and Firefighters were called to an accident at a bank in Vaughn earlier this afternoon. .

"Today we got paged out for a vehicle accident, motor vehicle vs structure. Upon arrival we noticed there was a van inside the bank," explains Vaughn Firefighter Jason McAllister.

A van belonging to Benifis Hospital had crashed into Teton Banks building on Post Avenue in Vaughn right next to the volunteer fire station.

"Basically the Spectrum Medical van swerved off the road up here out of control you can see by the yaw [driver] tried to recover it got it back together here a little bit but not enough time to react and hit the bank," says Montana Highway Patrol Trooper, Samuel Goodemot.

With the exception of the damage to the side of the building 2 people were injured in the incident.

"1 person injured inside the bank and the driver of the van is also injured nothing critical from what we were told so far," added Goodemot.

With an accident like this it is safe to say folks wont be able to use the drive-thru teller in the near future.

"the corner of it is structurally unsound at this time," further explains McAllister.

From what officials have told us the injuries are non-critical injuries and we will update you as we learn more.
