Poster Campaign Against Human Trafficking launches in MT

Posted: Updated:

At our capital today Attorney General Tim Fox launched a state wide poster campaign against human trafficking.

The poster campaign is designed to raise public awareness of human trafficking in the State of Montana. A poster was created to be displayed in various locations around the state including rest stops off highways statewide. The human trafficking poster was created by the Montana Department of Justice as a requirement of H.B. 488.

Attorney General Tim Fox stated "Perhaps some of you are wondering why we are talking about human trafficking because after all we are in Montana right, but the fact of the matter is that this is one of the most egregious of human rights violations that can happen, and it can happen right here in Montana."

Due to a Legislative mandate, the poster is written in both English and Spanish, displays a Q.R. Code, and a toll-free help line administered by the Polaris Project, a national non-profit. Human trafficking has been identified as a $32 billion a year industry and is the fastest growing element of crime in the world.
