KALISPELL -

Free lunch, giveaways, and games are all coming to Kalispell's Woodland Park Saturday, October 19.

Registration starts at noon for the Flathead's first ever Buddy Walk, a one mile walk to raise awareness and support for people with Down's Syndrome.

Mini therapy horses, a live DJ, and free pizza are just some of the event's highlights.

Organizers will also accept donations to pay for the walk.

Contributions will also go toward the National Down's Syndrome Society and a program designed to expose kids with special needs to art.

"I want the community to become more aware of kids like my daughter, Jordan," explained the Walk's coordinator, Corinne Bludworth.

The daughter of the Buddy Walk's coordinator, Jordan Bludworth, is the main inspiration for the event.

Her birthday is also October 19.

Organizers hope to make this an annual event.
