Special Olympics of Montana had a big announcement today for the month of November. They will be holding their annual basketball tournament here in Great Falls.

"We came today to kick off our 2013 state basketball tournament. We'll have through November 14th through the 16th in Great Falls. We will have over 700 athletes, over 300 coaches with 250 volunteers doing all sorts of competitions doing 5 on 5 basketball and individual skills basketball," explains Vice President of Sports and Competition, Jonathan Embler.

This is one of the biggest basketball related events and it takes a lot of man power to put on here in the electric city for one more time before heading to Helena next year.

"This is a great event for us. Steve Irwin and myself we have a great group of volunteers that have been around since the summer games were here back in '05-08. We got some great competition people, we got some great churches and families step up, businesses. So great volunteers from all over the community including Malmstrom they send us literally hundreds of volunteers to help us with some of the physical work. It's an easy event to produce for the right reasons," says Commissioner Bob Kelly.

And of course there is room for anyone who would love to volunteer in anyway to help make this years basketball tournament spectacular.

"we do have a need for volunteers if you're interested in volunteering I have some numbers for you to call and get yourself lined up to come and help out," adds Embler.

If you would like to Volunteer you can call Jonathan Embler at (406) 216-5327 or Jori Nebel at (406) 700-2003 or email Jonathan or Jori to help.
