Hunters Against Hunger Help People in Need

Posted: Updated:

In the past, when hunters donated their harvested game to the food bank, a majority of the processing fees would land on the shoulders of the charity, something that could now change.

"When you buy your license, there's a check off there and it says, yeah I would like to donate a dollar or a few dollars toward that cause," says Bill Gibson with Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks.

Since the new Game Donation Bill passed during the last legislative session, none of the money collected by the purchase of hunting licenses will be used this season.  That money, instead, will be held in a special account and will be distributed next Fall.
