Benefis Opens New Walk In Clinic

Posted: Updated:

Today Benefis is opening up their upgraded Walk In Care Center and Radiology lab, the goal is to bring medical attention further into the 21st century.

"One of the things that we're always looking to do is to be able to provide that level of care more efficiently and so these systems kind of remove some of the burdens of things that before doctors would have to do. this expedites the process of people getting through the registration process and also through the preliminary things they need in order to take care of patients like labs and x-rays, so if we can do more efficiently so that the patients can have a better care experience and doctors can see more patients," explains Chief Medical Officer, Doctor Gregory Tierney.

The completion of 12 new exam rooms and 2 new x-ray rooms couldn't have come at a better time for Benefis Hospital.

"Obviously Benefis is trying to meet the needs of both the community and the region, we have seen an extraordinary bug growth and the number of patients trying to access our web site," says Dr. Tierney.

The $700,000 upgrade added a brand new feature to the clinic to make service much faster for patients.

"Well I think probably the newest thing is the kiosk which is people who if they have ever been through an airport and would probably recognize it, but it's a point of service thing that allows patients to begin the access the process right initially as they come in here without having to stand in line,"says Dr. Tierney.

The Chief Medical Officer also hopes folks from the community are as excited as he is to incorporate all this new technology into the medical world.

"Certainly it's been a work in progress every time we complete one of these projects we're always proud to show them off and excited to have this part of our new system," explains Dr. Tierney.

Benefis Hospital is very excited to show off their upgraded equipment to the public and will have an open house for folks to walk through and see the additions for themselves Saturday November 9th from 4 to 7 PM.
