United Way Nearing Their Goal

The United Way's Pace Setters funding program has completed, however the group still needs some community support. The local United Way has completed the 2013 Pace Setters collection program from the businesses that are currently members of the United Way. The United Way is now turning to the community to help meet their fund raising goal of 1.2 million dollars. 

"Certainly if your employer offers the opportunity to contribute at your work, if they are conducting a United Way campaign to learn about the United Way, learn about what we do in the community and I think that people will be inspired to give when they see the results that we're achieving in the areas of education and health," Explains United Way President, Gary Owens.

The the 37 local businesses involved with the United Way pace setters were able to raise $702,551 dollars total. That is about 60% away from their final goal. Gary Owens united way president says if folks would like to give they can do so by getting in contact with the United Way via phone or Internet or you can go to www.unitedway.org.
