Tori Takes on Being a Tree Cutter

Posted: Updated:

The sounds of cutting lumber in the forest. Except today we are not. We are right here in Great Falls.

I'm hanging out with a tree cutter named Buster, and today I'm going to take on Buster's job. So lets find out what I have to do.

Buster Ross with Cripple Creak Construction explains, "She is going to go up in the bucket with me. And I actually have a special little chain saw just her size. She will go ahead and start limbing the tree and the base of the tree itself. And then she will cut it down."

Well they usually say that diamonds are a girl's best friend. Well today, power tools are going to be my best friend, because I'm about to cut down that tree.

Well I may have lost my hat on the way, but now we are at the top. First things first Buster and I are going to take off these branches

And now this tree is, how can I put this, I'll go out on a limb here and say naked. Buster what do we do next? He says, "We are going to go back up top, and cut it down into pieces."

Now this is a great way to do it, because in the woods you would topple this 45 foot tree, but here we have to protect the surrounding houses. But that didn't keep me from doing what I always wanted to do when I took on this job.... (nat sound: "Timber!")

And the final thing we do with the tree is take the branches and put them into the chipper. And I'm going to be honest, I couldn't be more chipper, because I got out of this segment of "Tori Takes It On" with out losing any limbs! (nat sound: "I did it!"
