Posted: Updated:

The Great Falls Trap Club is holding a holiday theme tournament in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Folks took aim today to try their luck during the first of the year meat shoot competition in Ulm.

"Today we're going to have our first of the year meat shoot. It's kind of a competition shoot where everybody gets to come out and shoot at some targets and we actually give out meat prizes for the prizes it gives everybody a chance to get together and have some fun," says club member, Keith Nelson.

This beginning contest is of course well theme for the Thanksgiving holiday.

"Yeah we got lots of turkeys so one of the prizes is a turkey. It's one of the reasons why people come out before thanksgiving to get their meat for the day," says Nelson.

Shoot officials are expecting to see a good turn out to today's events.

"I don't got a count today, we usually average between 30 and 50 people that come up today I'm sure we'll hit the 30 mark," says Nelson.

This competition even brings in the entire family.

"They bring the kids and the women come up and shoot so it's not a guys only thing, you know we get the family up here a lot and we have some good fun," says Nelson.
