Bobcat Seniors Focused on Beating Griz

Bozeman, MT - On Saturday, the seniors on the Montana State football team will face rival Montana for the final time.

"I love these guys I love DeNarius, we've been thru so much. Tanner, we've been on scout team since we were on red shirts man." Senior running back Cody Kirk recalls.

"We've cried together we've sweat together we've yelled at each other we've gotten in fights but they're my brothers."

If that doesn't describe the emotion of Cat Griz week, I don't know what will. This rivalry is special. Discussed and debated 365 days a year.

"It's not just this week it's all year long other rivalries there's big hype the week of the game and then maybe recedes a bit during the year this one never recedes. It's all year long." Cats head coach Rob Ash says.

Adds senior defensive end Brad Daly, "This rivalry means everything to me, it means everything to this state, and it would be awesome to have bragging rights for another year. And after this year, it means for the rest of the my life."

Fans and media love talking about legacies. This game will define many players careers, including Cats senior quarterback DeNarius McGhee's.

"Like Cody said, we are on the scout team together. We never knew it would come down to this. It's a great story that's why we have to make it a great ending."

McGhee normally harps on execution, and preparation, but the Mississippi native really wants this win.

"Out of all the coaches and offensive coordinators we've had in the past years the one that's still standing is the man over there, and that's Coach Ash. So I'm going to do everything I can to make sure we end this regular season with a win over those guys."

Kickoff is Saturday at noon in Bozeman on Root Sports.
