Butte Woman Competes on Food Network's "Cupcake Wars"

Posted: Updated:

By day, Kelli Fivey is a Deputy Attorney for Butte-Silver Bow County. By night, she bakes gourmet cupcakes and has been doing so for about a year.  Last Summer, Fivey was chosen to compete in Cupcake Wars, a show that pits four of the country's top cupcake bakers against each other for a cash prize.  And Saturday night. the episode with Fivey aired for the first time.

"It was fun, it was a roller coaster. It was exhausting. You're up everyday early in the morning, and then you do everything you're supposed to do while you're there," says Fivey.

Well, Fivey was eliminated in the early rounds but now she has plans to open her own cupcake bakery in Butte.  She says the bakery known as "Sugar" will open later this week on Harrison Avenue.
