Local Gym to Put on Spin-A-Thon

Posted: Updated:

Before you dig into that turkey and stuffing a local gym is having a Thanksgiving stationary bike ride known as a Spin-a-thon.

"Well we are having our usual 2 hour Thanksgiving day ride and we do it every year," says Jan Shelton.

Every year the workout facility named The Gym raises money to benefit a local charity.

"Every year we have sponsorships for some organization and try to have money donated towards that. This year it is my neighbor in need," explains Shelton.

So far on they have raised over a thousand dollars on sign-ups and sponsorships alone. The "giving" doesn't stop on turkey day though as folks can continue to give all week.

"Oh yes they can still donate on that day and if they didn't get a chance to donate they can also still come to our desk or to our manager and make another donation," adds Shelton.

Also the staff at The Gym are very excited to be getting a brand new name coming to them next week.

"We are going to get a new name and that's going to happen really soon and we're very excited about that. So listen up folks we got the new name coming and it will be up here at the gym by next week," says Shelton.
