Helena Food Share sees increase in distribution

The Helena Food Share experienced a 15% increase in the number of clients they served this Thanksgiving as opposed to last years Thanksgiving, it comes out to a total of 1,300 households that were served, and ended up meeting the needed amount of turkeys through various food drives last month.

"The community really came through for us on the Turkey Challenge and they brought out all kinds of frozen turkeys and gave us a lot of financial support in order to help us meet our costs if we had to go out and purchase turkeys." Says Dana Friede from the Helena Food Share.

On average the Helena Food Share serves 120,000 lbs. of food to clients in need each month, and now that they got through Thanksgiving time they are preparing for Christmas with their biggest drive of the year partnering with Albertsons December 14th and 15th.
