Missoulians Exercise Before Thanksgiving Dinner

Posted: Updated:
MISSOULA -

Hundreds of Missoula residents earned their Thanksgiving dinner Thursday morning by running in the "Turkey Day 8K and 3K Family Fun Run."

Both courses looped around the Kim Williams Trail along the Clark Fork River in downtown Missoula.

Runners were encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Missoula Food Bank.

Taylor, a Turkey 3K Participant, said, "My mom found out about this, so we came to do it for fun, because my mom really likes running."

Taylor's dad, Jason Huff, added, "We've done a number of races in the past on Thanksgiving as kind of a way to earn our dinner, if you will, burn a few calories and then feel good about whatever else we eat today."

Awards were given in the form of Thanksgiving food to the top three male and female overall winners.
