19th Annual Parade of Lights in Great Falls

Posted: Updated:

Well it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas as folks and Christmas lights line the sides of the street all waiting for the beginning of the Holiday Light Show parade.

"Oh we're just having a wonderful evening downtown here where the Parade of Lights this is our 19th annual parade," explains Downtown Great Falls Association member, Jerry Knight.

Over 50 groups participated in the night time parade march down central which is on par with the last few years' numbers of participants.

"oh absolutely being that this is a Saturday night now we had Thanksgiving on a Thursday and our wonderful shopping day Friday and then Saturday night let's get together and have a parade, and just get out of the house and just sit back and enjoy," says Knight.

And everybody is waiting for the jolly man at the end of the parade to help us light our downtown holiday tree.

"oh absolutely we don't have to say who it is because I bet you can almost guess, but he dresses in red and he comes from the north pole," says Knight.

The parade of lights ushers in the Christmas season here in great falls as it ends up right in front of the civic center in front of the giant lit up tree.
