Carroll Hoops Hitting Road to Face D1 Teams

Posted: Updated:

The Carroll Men's Basketball team hit the road today to take on a pair of NCAA Division 1 opponents. The Saints begin with 7-0 Boise State tomorrow followed by Idaho State on Friday. The trip to Idaho is a homecoming of sorts for some of the players and they look forward to playing in front of their friends and families.

Saints Sophomore, Jake Hollifield said, "Jerome is only about two hours from Boise. So I'm excited to be able to play in front of a bunch of my family and friends and even my high school coach is bringing his high school program up to watch up play."

Saints Senior, Dennis Mikelonis said, "Boise State is a good team this year. I think they have a chance to get to the sweet 16 or the big dance. Honestly I think it's going to be a good test for us and a good experience for the younger guys to get to play on such a stage as Boise State."

But for head coach Carson Cunningham, this trip is about improving as a team and focusing on getting better in all areas of the game. "Right now it's about us getting better at what we do on both ends and we go from there."

Carroll and Boise State will tip tomorrow at 8:05pm.
