Learn How Local Ranchers are Prepping for the Cold

With temperatures expected to get colder, area ranchers are making sure their livestock are equipped and ready for the worst

Brittany Wright spoke with one rancher who tells us the biggest challenges he is going to face.

Craig White owns the Bar Quarter Circle Ranch in Bozeman. He says making sure his cattle have enough food and water to help keep them warm as the temperatures decrease is crucial.

Montana Extension Office cattle beef specialist Rachel Endecott says this is the most important step to keeping livestock healthy through the cold snap.

Experts say, though it's in the animals nature to find heat on their own.

The most challenging aspect of White's  business he says during this time of year is getting his equipment to work.

With temperatures expected to drop to some of the coldest Montana has seen in years... White says he still feels his cattle are prepared to withstand the frigid weather.
