Posted: Updated:

The 2013 Battle of the Rockies wrestling duals were Friday, December 6 at the University of Great Falls.  Some of the top ranked NAIA schools from across the country competed in multiple duals on the day which began at 12pm and ended with the final dual at 6pm.

In early round action, the hometown Argos, ranked 6th, defeated 8th ranked Simpson but then lost to Division II McKnedree.  The #2 ranked MSU Northern Lights beat #11 ranked Indiana Tech and faced #16 ranked Dickinson State later this evening.

Tomorrow, beginning at 9am at CMR high school, the schools will compete in an open tournament.

On a side note, although UGF had to forfeit the 197 lb match against IndianaTech, which might have proven to be the deciding bout, it was for goodreason.

Argos 197 pounder, Sheldon Page, had to take his wife to thehospital because she was in active labor.

The new daddy pinned ChristianWhite of Simpson University at the 4:16 mark, then left shortly after that tohelp his wife deliver little Hope Rebekah Page who weighed in at 7 lbs and 12oz.

ENTIAT, Wash. - A burn out operation is planned for Tuesday morning in an effort to establish a secure line in the bottom of the canyon where the Mills Canyon Fire is burning. Burning material rolling downhill and igniting spot fires on the north side of Swakane Canyon have caused concerns and indicate a vulnerability to a fire escape and repeatedly expose firefighters to very steep terrain and rolling material.
