Wreaths Around America Honors Veterans

On that Christmas note, today at the capitol, the Wreaths Across America ceremony taking place in the rotunda to honor Veterans for this holiday season.

Veterans and other gathered at the capitol for this 4th annual ceremony to honor serving members of the armed services as well as Veterans from Montana who have given of themselves to serve our nation and our state. A wreath was placed in the rotunda in honor of those veterans and will stay in that location throughout the holidays.

"This is a ceremony whose origin began with Arlington National Cemetery and it spread across the country, now there are ceremonies like this in state houses across the land." says Al Nash from the Civil Air Patrol. "There are also ceremonies upcoming on Saturday at many cemeteries across the nation including several in Montana."

Lt. Governor John Walsh spoke at the event today, and a variety of Veterans were in attendance in addition to several members of the Montana Civil Air Patrol which is the main sponsor of this event
