Avoid that "Winter Itch"

Posted: Updated:

Simple things such as avoiding hot water, using a milder soap, and moisturizing immediately after baths and showers are all ways to alleviate that dry, itchy skin.

Certified Physician's Assistant, Peter Bulley says, "So what we are referring to is the Winter Itch. In the Winter with the dry season, a lot of things happen. We turn our heat on, we take hotter showers, we don't moisturize, so therefore our skin starts drying out and getting itchy."

Experts say if you find you've taken these measures and you're skin is still dry and irritable, you may want to contact a dermatologist.
